Enlighten Tattoo Removal

PicoGenesis Enlighten is the most advanced laser system for the effective and safe removal of tattoos, cosmetic pigment, and benign pigmented lesions.

How it Works:

PicoGenesis Enlighten laser features extremely short and high-power picosecond laser pulses, which efficiently and quickly break down the pigment particles in tattoos.
A picosecond is one-trillionth of a second, and is 1,000 times shorter/quicker than the nanosecond pulses used in existing lasers for tattoo removal.
Picosecond laser pulses have been shown to remove tattoos more completely and in fewer treatment sessions than traditional lasers used historically in the past.

Treatment Frequency:

The total number of treatments varies, depending on the color, composition, depth and overlap of the pigment, as well as the size and location of the tattoo.
You should be prepared for multiple (8-18) treatment sessions, spaced eight weeks apart.
Tattoo pigment is deposited deep in the skin. In order to reach all of the pigment in the skin, multiple treatment sessions are needed for clearance.
Cosmetic pigment used with microblading can have different properties and reactions than other tattoo pigment. Sometimes, the pigment oxidizes with treatment, and can change color during the course of treatment.

Where It Can Be Used:

Anywhere you have unwanted tattoo ink or cosmetic pigment
Safe on all skin types and colors. The Picogenesis laser has three wavelengths of treatment to address all the colors.
As with any laser treatment, it is best to perform on untanned skin, as lasers can remove pigment, including natural melanin in skin.

What To Expect:

Topical numbing at least 30 minutes prior to the appointment is highly recommended.
Prior to treatment, your provider will clean the area. You will feel the tip of the laser device touch your skin.
As the laser energy is applied, you will feel an electric rain sensation.
Immediately after treatment, you may apply cold air or an ice pack for a short time.
Most patients experience mild redness and swelling immediately following a the treatment. These side effects are temporary and typically resolve in several hours.
Although you may experience mild redness and swelling for a few hours following the treatment, you can expect to return to your regular activities immediately following the treatment
Over the course of a few weeks, the pigment will be broken down and absorbed by the body.
You should keep the treated area out of the sun and/or apply sunscreen for protection. Your PICO Genesis provider may recommend additional follow-up care.
